Delinquency as a social phenomenon has many effects. One of these effects is the cost of crime. This issue, which is under the economic analysis of crime, constitutes one of the important dimensions of criminal policy. The criminal spends money to commit the crime and expects to get a profit in return. Also, he may incur costs after committing a crime. The victim suffers heavy and various costs as a result of the crime. Society and potential victims must also pay a price. In addition to these cases, the criminal justice system allocates significant financial resources to prosecute and respond to the perpetrators and before that to criminalize them. The question that arises is what is meant by the evaluation of crime costs and what are the effects of analyzing these costs? Evaluating and estimating the costs of crime provides the possibility of examining the usefulness and desirability of policies related to crime and punishment, and in line with the formulation of preventive measures, programs of the criminal justice system, and the design of appropriate models and methods in order to reduce the costs of crime. It helps the policy makers. In this analysis, the criminal is a reasonable and calculating person who made a choice based on the economic model and commits criminal behavior if he estimates the benefits of the crime as more favorable compared to other activities. The price of delinquency includes not only the costs that are imposed on the victim, the society and the criminal justice system after the crime has occurred; Rather, it includes the costs that the perpetrator spends in order to commit a crime, escape, and also the lost opportunity, and in addition, it also includes the costs that society members and relevant institutions allocate in order to prevent crime. The research method is descriptive analysis.
