According to the principle of sovereignty of the will, the parties to the contract can determine the effects of the contract as they wish. However, the will of the parties is valid as long as it does not conflict with public order. In line with the principle of the sovereignty of the will of the parties, they can limit or exclude their responsibility for their duties in the contract. One of the examples of limiting the responsibility is determining the period for filing a lawsuit. The parties can, by mutual agreement, determine the period that they consider reasonable as the passage of time or reduce the periods stipulated in the law. Also, according to the principle of the sovereignty of the will of the parties, they can increase their responsibility, and in this regard, they have the authority to extend the period stipulated in the law before its end, and despite this, the agreement of the parties to extend the period should be such that it does not contradict It is not public order and it should not make the legislator's goal of establishing the rules of passage of time sterile.
